How to connect Scoop with your Google calendar - Employees

  • Updated

The Scoop platform is now embedded directly in your daily workflow. When you connect Scoop to your Google calendar, you can view your previously set work status as well as view where team members plan on working day to day right as you’re booking your next meeting.

To connect your Google calendar with Scoop from the mobile app:

  • Open the Scoop app and log in if necessary
  • Once your company’s Scoop admin enables Google calendar integrations, you should see a green banner near the top of the ‘Home’ page inviting you to connect your calendar. Select ‘Connect Calendar’ from this banner
  • You should then see a pop up page from the bottom of your screen, select ‘Sign in with Google
  • This option will redirect you to your web browser where you’ll be able to choose your company Google account to connect with Scoop
  • Once you select your Google account and complete the login process, you will need to enable permissions to allow Scoop to view and edit events on your Google calendar
  • After enabling permissions, you’ll be all set and will be able to navigate back to the Scoop app

If you had previously selected the option of ‘Not now’ on the banner but would like to enable Google calendar integrations for Scoop, this can be easily done from your account settings.

To navigate to this setting:

  • Tap the ‘Account’ tab on the bottom right hand side of the app
  • Then tap ‘Settings
  • From there tap ‘Connected Apps
  • You should then see the Google calendar option listed there.

To connect your Google calendar with Scoop from our Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge extension:

  • Open the Scoop Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge Extension and log in if necessary
  • Once your company’s Scoop admin enables Google calendar integrations, you should see a green banner inviting you to connect your calendar. Select ‘Connect Calendar’ from this banner
  • Once selected, you should see the option to select ‘Sign in with Google
  • This option will redirect you to Google’s login screen where you can choose your company Google account to connect with Scoop
  • After you select your Google account and complete the login process, you will need to enable permissions to allow Scoop to view and edit events on your Google calendar
  • After enabling permissions, you’ll be all set and your future status will appear on your Google Calendar.

Your scoop status will show as a full day event on your Google calendar. Deleting or changing the calendar event will not delete or change the Scoop status.

Any changes you wish to make to your Scoop status will need to be made within the Scoop mobile app or browser extension.

* Your company’s Scoop admin will need to enable Google calendar integrations to see the option to connect Scoop with Google. This feature is only for Scoop users whose employers are a part of a Hybrid Work Scoop Program.
